Ans : We live a modern life where we all want to watch movie or Music Video or Tv Series or other stuff in HD (High Definition) Quality. With help of internet, everyday we download lot of things and Bluray, BDrip, BRrip, 1080p, 720p are common name to us. Do we really know What are they??

We always make mistake about them, I have seen people call a 6 GB mkv file as ‘Bluray’. People also think Bluray mean eight it 720p or 1080p. Most of us don’t know the differences. Let’s have a look at them………

Normally in bluray  you will see BDMV folder containing .m2ts files or .iso disk image and it’s will have MPEG4 = AVC = H.264 or MPEG2 or VC-1 Video codec. For audio it can be TrueHD, DTS-HD MA(Master Audio), LPCM or AC3, DTS. Size of the file will be 20GB – 50GB and Resolution 1920×1080.

 Bluray Remux:

Bluray Remux is modified version of Bluray. The video and audio quality will be same as source bluray but the format will be changed to MKV (Matroska) or ts (transport stream).

BDrip = Bluray(Disk) rip = Bluray x264:

To reduce the size of the file we encode the Bluray Remux again. Normally we get the BDrip as mkv format. Size start from 4GB to 20 GB and resolution can be 1920×1080 or 1280×720.

Re-encoding from an x264 Encode (BDrip). It can be any format, size less than 3 GB and resolution can be 1920×1080 or 1280×720 or 720×480.

Still there are a lot of Encoders who can make small size file with High Definition but you can’t call them Bluray they are BRrip. lol I know all of this still I call BRrip as Bluray 😛 hahahaha………
